Yoga Classes That Bend, Not Break, the Rules

Hi, I’m Bhavana

I’m so glad you’re here—and even happier that you’re curious about what your body can do.

Yoga became my first go-to while navigating weight loss, poor sleep, low stamina and a rather chaotic appetite. Then came strength training, running and a whole world of other fun ways to move. Somewhere along the way, I stopped thinking of yoga as the way to move and started seeing it as an incredible way to understand how we move.

My relationship with yoga actually began in fifth grade. We lost touch for a while—like old school friends sometimes do—but reunited with a bang when I turned 30. I haven't looked back.

I’ve practiced for eight years under the guidance of Pragya Bhatt in Bangalore, India, completed my Diploma in Yoga Therapy through YogaBharati (affiliated with S-VYASA, Bangalore), and completed my yoga teacher training with Heart + Bones Yoga in Canada. My foundation is Hatha Yoga with a deep appreciation for traditional props, complemented by what I continue to learn from strength, mobility and movement training.

My teaching philosophy is simple:

Explore your body in all its glory.

I want you to discover that your body can bend, reach, twist, balance, lift and play in far more ways than you might think. We may start as beginners, but “advanced” isn’t a forbidden land—Sirsasana, Hanumanasana and everything between are things we can explore thoughtfully, one step at a time.

Because ultimately, I’m not interested in whether you can do a headstand.

I’m interested in whether you still approach movement with the curiosity of a five-year-old when you're 65.

That sense of independence, playfulness and possibility is what I want you to carry through every phase of life.

And whether you're one person in a private session or one of many in a group class, you'll get the same enthusiasm—and the same eagle eye.
